　　本計畫「帝制中國的時空知識」為國立臺灣大學與中央研究院共同推動之創新合作研究計畫，旨在透過跨學科、多語種與國際視野，重新審視古代至清代中國政府與知識人如何建構、掌握並運用有關「時空」的知識，也深入考察「時空」知識如成為現代學術史的論題。該計畫產出研究成果豐碩，包含多篇期刊論文與專書篇章、超過20場會議論文與專題演講、1則數位短片與1篇學術書評。

　　

　　中研院計畫主持人孔令偉博士（中央研究院歷史語言研究所）發揮其在清代資訊體系與藏學研究上的深厚基礎，策略性地以清代中國與其周邊政權知識流動為突破口，整合不同語種與區域的文獻材料，並主動推動與國內外機構之合作聯繫，涵蓋中、美、日、蒙等多國學界，帶動本計畫研究成果的國際和能見度與跨國合作。孔研究員於補助期間發表多篇國際期刊論文，並受邀於多場學術會議與海外講座發表演講，深化中研院在全球清史研究網絡中的影響力。

 

　　國立臺灣大學方面，主持人傅揚教授（國立臺灣大學歷史學系）以建立研究團隊為主要目標，串聯國內外學術能量，以古代與中古中國為範圍進行補白，進一步強化和推廣孔令偉博士的研究成果。此外，他也結合宏觀與細緻的學術史考察，進而深化人才培育和議題開發的可能性。臺大方面也於 2025 年 12 月 26 日舉辦學術工作坊，邀請孔令偉博士和若干國內外中青年學者，就時空知識的議題進行發表與交流，相關論著也可能作為計畫成果發表，以饗學界（2023 年度合作計畫辦理的工作坊，已於2025年以專題論文集形式送交大學出版社審查。本年度相關活動亦考慮循此辦理）。個人研究方面，傅揚教授聚焦（1）時代分期與比較、（2）近世以前關於海與島的知識，和（3）近代學者對中國時空知識的建構，可望在修訂後投稿學術刊物。

　　

　　更直接的合作方面，傅揚教授提供數位人文與歷史地理分析的技術支援與方法論指導，並協助整合臺大相關研究資源（如數位佛典資料庫、歷史地理圖資平台等），與孔令偉博士領導之中研院研究團隊形成互補。雙方亦共同規劃新一階段的數位成果轉化計畫，擬建立「帝制知識地圖」數位平台，嘗試以視覺化方式呈現帝國空間知識的建構脈絡，作為下一步整合型大型計畫的基礎。

　　

　　本計畫具體展現臺大與中研院在研究題目設定、資料資源整合與學術網絡拓展上的協力成果。雙方合作不僅提升研究品質與視野，亦建立起一套可供未來類似研究參考的協作模式，為臺灣人文社會科學研究的國際化與創新發展提供實踐案例。

　　

　　

　　The project “Knowledge of Time and Space in Imperial China” represents an innovative joint research endeavor between National Taiwan University and Academia Sinica. It aims to reevaluate how temporal and spatial knowledge was conceptualized, institutionalized, and operationalized from early China up to the era of the Qing empire. The project has resulted in many journal articles and one book chapter, more than 20 conference papers and invited talks, 1 digital video feature, and 1 academic book review.

　　

　　AS Investigator Dr. Ling-Wei Kung (Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica) contributed his expertise in Qing information systems and Tibetan studies. He coordinated the project’s intellectual direction, compiled sources in Chinese, Manchu, Tibetan, and other languages, and cultivated international partnerships with scholars and institutions across the U.S., Japan, Mongolia, and China. His contributions include multiple journal publications in prestigious venues and over 20 invited lectures and conference presentations worldwide, reinforcing Academia Sinica’s leadership in global Qing studies.

　　

　　The NTU investigator, Prof. Yang Fu (Department of History, NTU), aims to establish a research team that not only brings together scholarly resources from Taiwan, fills in the gaps of scholarship with a focus on ancient and medieval China but also further strengthens and disseminates Dr. Kung’s research findings. In addition, he carries out broad and detailed analyses of the history of scholarship, thereby strengthening talent cultivation and advancing thematic development. NTU also held an academic workshop at December 26, 2025, to which Dr. Kung and several early-career and mid-career scholars from Taiwan and overseas was invited to present and engage in discussions on issues related to spatial-temporal knowledge in China. The relevant papers may be published as project outcomes to benefit the academic community. (The workshop held under the 2023 collaborative project has already resulted in an edited volume submitted to a university press for review, and similar arrangement are under consideration for this year’s activities.) Regarding individual research, Prof. Fu concentrates on (1) periodization and comparison, (2) knowledge of seas and islands before the early modern era, and (3) the construction of spatial-temporal knowledge of China by modern scholars. Revised results are expected to be submitted to academic journals for publication.

　　

　　In terms of direct collaboration, Prof. Fu offered key methodological support in digital humanities and historical cartography and contributed tools and resources from NTU’ s digital repositories, including Buddhist textual databases and spatial mapping platforms. Prof. Fu collaborated with Dr. Kung and the Academia Sinica team to co-develop plans for a digital platform titled “Imperial Knowledge Cartography,” aiming to visualize the making of spatial knowledge in the Qing. This platform serves as a prototype for furture large-scale, cross-institutional research projects.

　　

　　This collaboration illustrates the complementary strengths of NTU and Academia Sinica in theme development, data integration, and international networking. The joint effort not only enhanced the academic quality of the research but also established a replicable model for future partnership. It stands as a compelling example of how Taiwan’s humanities and social sciences can advance through coordinated institutional innovation.
