我們研究團隊邀請服務於韓國首爾大學（Seoul National University）當今環境變遷研究的頂尖學者柳榮烈（Youngryel Ryu）教授來訪，訪臺期間為2024/05/08–11共4天，柳教授的專長為跨尺度陸域碳循環與水循環模擬與監測，與我們計畫性質與研究團隊的專長非常契合。在短暫的交流期間，柳教授共訪問了臺灣大學地理環境資源學系與大氣科學系、中央研究院環境變遷研究中心以及溪頭實驗林，進行多場學術交流（包含訪談、授課與學術演講）。在活動結束後，計畫主持人黃倬英教授也送他的碩士班指導學生到首爾大學柳教授的研究室進行為期10天（2024/12/16–25）的密集受訓，學習最新的分析技術，而我們在今年（2026）也規劃與柳教授進行新的陸域碳循環研究計畫。柳榮烈教授來訪的經費由國科會補助，而訪臺活動一系列活動的以及之後送學生到海外受訓的經費則由本計畫補助。
Our research team invited Professor Youngryel Ryu of Seoul National University, Korea, a world leading scholar in environmental change research, to visit Taiwan from May 8 to 11, 2024 (four days). Professor Ryu specializes in the modeling and monitoring of cross-scale terrestrial carbon and water cycles, which aligns closely with the subject of this project and the expertise of our research team. During this brief academic exchange, Professor Ryu visited the Departments of Geography and Atmospheric Sciences at National Taiwan University, the Research Center for Environmental Changes at Academia Sinica, and the Xitou Experimental Forest. He participated in several academic activities, including scholarly discussions, lecturing, and research talks. After the visit, the project principal investigator (PI), Professor Cho-ying Huang, sent one of his master’s students to Professor Ryu’s laboratory at Seoul National University for 10 days (from December 16 to 25, 2024) of intensive training to learn state-of-the-art analytical techniques. We are planning to develop a new terrestrial carbon cycle research project with Professor Ryu this year (2026). Professor Ryu’s visit was funded by the National Science and Technology Council, while the series of activities during his visit to Taiwan, as well as the subsequent overseas training for the student, were supported by this project.
